HOW DOES IT WORK?
Part 1 - Welcoming Guests
We will welcome you to the villa, surrounded by vineyards, where originally the castle was built. There will be a quick introduction by Guido with an overview of the tasting experience.
Part 2 - Cellar
We will show you the cellar, which includes 2 areas: the vinification cellar and the historic cellar located under the villa.
Part 3 - Wine Tasting
Finally, you will enjoy the wine tasting in a room with oak barrels in the main villa, with gourmet pairing of local products. In detail, the tasting includes:
3 Wines:
- Chianti Classico DOCG
- Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
- Barullo IGT (Super Tuscan)
The food pairings include:
- A selection of 2 cheese types from Pienza
- Tuscan Prosciutto Ham Pratomagno
- Crostini bread with liver paste
- Naturally leavened Tuscan bread
- Seasonal fruit
The selection of wines and local products might vary depending on the availability and the season.

Duration: Approximately 90 minutes
Availability: every day
Everyday, including Saturday and Sunday.
- Morning shift: from 11:00 to 12:30 (11 AM to 12:30 PM)
- Afternoon shift: from 15:30 to 17:00 (3:30 PM to 5 PM)

I have been the owner of Castello di Selvole since the end of the 90s. After having been a journalist for decades, while I was working in France I discovered a passion for wine, and I decided to become a winemaker. These days I am committed to sharing my knowledge about wine to make this world more approachable to everyone, by explaining the processes in the vineyard and the cellar, and what makes this art and science so appealing!

Castello di Selvole, a place of peace and relaxation. In the off-season no other guests except us. The lovingly designed facility is simple but clean. The kitchen equipment and the number of dishes still have potential for improvement. All the winery employees were nice, friendly and helpful.
